Meet the Staff

We, The Tiger Roar, strive for accuracy in reporting and writing.  We hold the code that public enlightenment is the forerunner of justice and the foundation of a strong democracy. Our duty is to further those ends by seeking truth and providing fair and comprehensive accounts of events and issues past, present, and future.  We serve the faculty, parents and students of the Fairview School District with thoroughness and honesty.  Professional integrity is the cornerstone of our credibility. The staff of The Tiger Roar shares a dedication to ethically declare our principles and standards of practice.

Our Staff:

Caleb McLaughlin, Editor- Caleb McLaughlin is a Fairview High School junior, where he is the editor for the Tiger Roar Newspaper, as well as a goalie for the Fairview Tiger Varsity hockey team. He hopes to major in English and Literature with a minor in creative writing after he graduates high school and plans to attend an out-of-state university. Caleb wishes to pursue a career as a novelist or a contract writer for video game and movie studios.

Luke Frigon, News Journalist- Luke Frigon is a junior this year. As a journalist on the newspaper staff, he enjoys writing about current events and news. In his free time, Luke likes to read, watch movies, and hang out with his friends. He is a junior class representative on student council as well as secretary. He is on the swim team and the hurdle crew.

Editorial Policy
The Tiger Roar is a news website updated daily during the school year by the student publications staff of Fairview High School.  The Staff editorial reflects the opinion of the writer and/or staff, unless indicated otherwise.  Editorials do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Fairview School District.  The Tiger Roar is an award winning member of the American Scholastic Press Association, and the International Quill and Scroll Society.

Letters to the Editor Policy
We strongly encourage readers to share comments, suggestions, and/or complaints by submitting letters to the Editor.  In order to be considered for publication, letters to the Editor must include the author’s signature.  Names can be withheld from publication only at the request of the author and approval of the advisor.  Editors reserve the right to edit for clarification or space limitations.  Libelous or profane letters will not be published.  The publications staff encourages all Fairview students and staff to use the “Letters to the Editor” as a public forum in the spirit of free speech and press.

    I wish the old articles were still up too. I know they would be from earlier in the year or from last year, but it would be nice to see them too. Many people had interesting articles before, but I can’t find them now. :(

    You might want to ask FMS to highlight this on their site and/or newsletter as a way to begin to familiarize 8th graders with the HS.
